Re: ION Pokemon Forever Championship- the ION ongoing event

The opening ceremony was a success, great job everyone.
Now we are going to start a little differently than originally planned.
The rankings look like this:

1.Pokémon Master Zero17
2.Sethyas
3.UWorlds
4.Custos
5.xDactyl
6.IONAurethious
7.Leviathan
8.Reayonix

So as you can all see we are going with one division instead of two.
This means no swap mechanic which was making things more unnecessarily complex.
Also no Pokémon Champion either, the goal is Pokémon Master.

What does this mean for ruling changes?
Well now you can challenge anyone at anytime for points no matter how many points you have except for the Pokémon Master.
To challenge the Pokémon Master to a ranked point battle you must have 5 points.
If you beat the Pokémon Master in a ranked point battle you win 10 points, if you lose you lose 5 points.

The points gained is a little different now.
All trainers get 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie and -1 for a loss. Just like it was before.
However now the lower ranked trainer battling a higher ranked trainer may earn more points.
If the lower ranked trainer wins against a higher ranked trainer, the lower ranked trainer gets
points by the difference in both of their ranks.
So lets say Rank 8 beats Rank 2, Rank 8 gets the 2 points for a win and then gets
6 more points because that is the difference in rank. There are no extra points lost for the higher ranked trainer.

For the first month any ties in points to decide the rankings will be decided by these initial tournament rankings.
So if Custos and UWorlds are tied for points in rank 3, UWorlds is rank 3 and Custos is rank 4 because
of the starting rankings.
After the first month, ties will be decided by the two trainers win/lose ratios.
If those are tied it will be decided by which trainer has more wins.
If that is tied it will be decided by 1 single battle.

The general rules are basically the same as before.
So I can change the first page later on to make it more official
and easier to find rulings.
I will also save the current page one and we can use that if there is a problem with this.
Or if enough trainers would rather have it that way.
If any of you have any questions or want to discuss this new event style or
the old event style just PM me and we can talk.

Now let the ION Pokémon Forever Championship Begin!!!

Re: ION Pokemon Forever Championship- the ION ongoing event

First post has been updated with the new rules and structure of the game.
I have also put up the rankings and the individual points and win/loss/tie numbers for everyone.

Also as the Pokémon Master I will announce that this week the fun thing you can try to do to win double
the flat rate points is to win with an all Ghost type team.

I would suggest keeping the standings and all of that in the OP of this thread. One central location is better than spreading it around.

Yeah that is what I figured as well.
It also seemed like a waste of a thread having just me changing numbers around lol.

I defeated Micha using an all Ghost team. It's not letting me upload the battle video for some reason. If you don't want to count it since it's not confirmed, that's fine.

I'll confirm this. He won and used all Ghost types.

We did some more testing and for some reason, the game flagged my Froslass. I'm not sure why. Again, if we want to not count the battle, or give me a loss, that's fine.

Re: ION Pokemon Forever Championship- the ION ongoing event

Ok the rules say that you must have the battle video for the double points.
So Al will get the win because of the double confirmation of the result, but
Al will not get the double points because of no battle video.
As for why the battle video didn't save I don't know, if you think it's Froslass then
you need to either figure out why, get a new one, or forget about that Froslass.

Totally understood.

For anyone wondering it appears that Froslass doesn't clear the name censor. Yeah, figure that one out.

That's unfortunate. I will remember not to use Froslass.

Re: ION Pokemon Forever Championship- the ION ongoing event

Still find it really weird that the name itself was preventing the video from working. I've uploaded battle videos in the past that have had nicknames Nintendo's censor doesn't approve of, and it simply strips the nickname (my Tornadus from the first ION League had a nickname that the sensors for some reason didn't like, guessing a swear in another language or something). Maybe Pokemon like Froslass and Cofagrigus, who have obscenities in their actual names, pose this problem, I dunno.

Nintendo/Gamefreak should have been smart about this IMO and make a whitelist in their name censor database for all of the Pokemon's actual names so this crap wouldn't happen, lol. Hopefully they do for Gen 6 (doubt it).
